Makeup Repair Tips

Mistakes happen, both in fashion and makeup! (though fashion mistakes are far easier to correct imo!) I know I make makeup mistakes all the time, often in the morning when I’m in a rush. So I’ve picked up a couple of tips to help perform quick and mini repairs as I go along.

Foundation too light?
Lightly dust some bronzer over the top till you reach your correct shade.

Foundation too dark?
Mix in some lighter foundation, or moisturiser. Using moisturiser is a great way to create your own tinted moisturiser too!

Blush too heavy?
Go over it gently with some face powder or powdered foundation till you reach your desired shade. Or if the colour isn’t too dark, try applying a matte highlighter, I personally use NYX’s Mosiac Powder in Highlighter.

Mascara gotten on your eyelid? Over extended your eyeliner?
Use a cotton bud, dip it lightly in makeup remover or your moisturiser and gently erase.

Eye shadow too heavy?
If the shadow isn’t too dark, try applying a lighter colour over it. Or blending the colour out more, you may end up with a slightly different look but you could be pleasantly surprised!

Eye shadow creasing?
Blend it out with your finger, and then dust over the same eyeshadow. Chances are if you didn’t use primer at the start, your shadow will crease again, but at least this method will provide a bit more longevity to your colour.

These are the issues I tend to run into a lot myself, if you’ve got some tips I would really love to hear them! :)
