Smashbox Eye Wish Eyeshadow Palette Swatches

December 23rd, 2010 § 10 comments

One of my favourite Holiday 2010 gift sets released this year :) This is Smashbox’s Wish Eye Palette, it contains 12 different eye shadows that range from matte to shimmer (nothing overly glittery), 4 cream liners, 1 mascara, 1 eye primer, 1 large mirror and a bunch of mini tutorials on how to achieve a range of different looks using this palette.

Admittedly Smashbox is a relatively new brand to me so I can’t really say much for how this particular palette compares to their other products.

That said, I was highly impressed by this palette, some of the shadows were intensely pigmented which I always love and all the neutral colours were perfect for work. I used this palette for about 2 weeks before posting this, even using it to swatch up my eye makeup before heading out to dinner after work.

The only disappearing colours I’ve found are eye shadow 12 and the last liner in the palette, it was quite a challenge to get any sort of pigmentation from them :( I really had to dig into them.

I’m not sure I would call this palette travel friendly has it is pretty large, measuring about 18.5cm x 14.5cm x 3cm. So not massive, but not something you could just pop into your hand bag before you leave for work. I also found it difficult to keep the lid open on it’s own, it tended to shut on itself a lot.

Despite that, I highly recommend this palette for people who want something that can take them from the office to a night out. Would be good for those traveling who don’t mind lugging around a slightly bigger palette (I personally probably wouldn’t though, so this is a home-only palette for me) It probably isn’t suitable for people looking for extreme colours to go crazy with :)
