Nothing better than a good neutral palette in my opinion, as a more conservative girl working in the corporate industry, neutral colours are essential to my everyday look. I relied heavily on this palette during my time in Sydney, in fact it was my everyday palette for the 3 months I was up there and I’m proud to say I’ve made quiet the dent I aim high in life… clearly.
That said, I’ve had this palette for ages now. I think I received it in an MBBE goodie bag back in 2010 and it took me a while to get around to it because besides infomercials I’d never heard of Avon before. I’m still not really sure what my opinion of Avon is as a brand since I’ve never seen the products in store to play with (I believe they are more of a mail order company), but I can attest that this palette is the perfect everyday, neutral, working palette!
It has two matte shades and two semi-shimmer shades that all have terrific pigmentation and apply wonderfully smooth on the lids. My go to look is to apply the champagne shade all over my lid and brow bone, apply the matte medium brown to my crease and line my upper lashes with the deepest brown. (you can see my actually doing this on my Get Ready With Me video) Sometimes I’ll apply it to the outer corner of my eyes if I’m going for a more night-time look.
Now that I’m back home in Melbourne, I’m back to experimenting with different upcoming palettes for the blog, but this particular palette still sits proudly in my personal makeup collection (yeah I have a makeup collection for the blog, and then my own personal collection that I consider “mine”, helps keep me organised…).
This palette is my official work travel palette, absolutely perfect! I highly recommend it! I wish I could share with you the price, but I’ve absolutely no idea Which would naturally effect one’s decision on obtaining this palette for themselves or not. All I’ve been able to find is a product detail page on the Australia Avon website here.
