The Spring 2013 collections are finally arriving, first up is Chanel’s Printemps Precieux de Chanel~ Thank goodness I review products on my blog and not on my YouTube channel, because I’d have no idea how to pronounce that! I wanted to try out their latest quad to see how it held up against all their other quads and I’ve got to admit, I love this just as much as I do the others
Chanel eyeshadows (the non-baked versions) in my experience are soft, buttery and highly pigmented, as you can tell in the swatches below. Very easy to blend and work with. The palette does however make me think of Tom Ford’s Fall 2013 palette called Enchanted. I feel like they sit in a similar colour family, so if you have one I don’t think it’s absolutely necessary to have the other.
I put together a step by step eyeshadow application tutorial to give you guys a better idea as to how to create each look when I review eyeshadow palettes. Hopefully I manage to do this for each of my future reviews (no promises).
I didn’t manage to use the top left colour in my look, in retrospect I think it would have been a lovely crease colour. I think the colour family used is suitable for most skin tones, though they aren’t exact neutral. I almost feel some of the colours here are a bit on the plummy side. Reminds me of Fall collections rather than spring.
This palette is going for $59US online, and I don’t believe it has made its way on to Aussie shores yet, but I’m happy to be corrected
Super quick post as I'm just about to head out the door for a picnic :D Just wanted to let you know, I've posted my video on how I created the headpiece in my Day of the Dead Book of Fables chapter
I’m not completely happy with how this was filmed, kinda wish I had more time to show different shots etc! But live and learn Hope you enjoy the tutorial!
First up, this is not a beauty video! :O But it may be a video current and future bloggers and youtubers may find interesting, and that’s how I film my tutorials and take self portraits when I am flying solo!
The cameras I have covered in this video are:
Apple iPhone 4S
Canon IXUS 125
Canon Legria HFM31
Canon DSLR EOS 600D
I wanted to show you guys how to film tutorials and take self portraits without anyone else’s help! I know a lot of youtuber especially struggle with this, hence one of the reasons they tend to only film indoors in their room and never mix it up. Well now you can mix it up! It’s all about being creative and pushing the limits a little
I did film this entire video completely on my own, it took me 3-4 hrs to do so, because filming yourself ‘filming yourself’ is not as easy as I thought! rofl!
Hope you found the video useful, it’s the longest video I’ve ever uploaded! Stay tuned for next week where I will be releasing my first Halloween makeup tutorial Have a great weekend!
Today’s video is just a super quick, almost 1 minute long tutorial on how I apply my individual false lashes! I filmed this a while back for a period where I knew I’d be short on videos, that day has come. I’m currently working on a number of chapters (I have them planned out till March 2013!) but they all take time as I don’t just film the makeup tutorial, but also how the costumes were created and I’m attempting some new props which require a bit of research on how to construct them. Time is hard to come by most days when you need to ensure you have blog posts lined up everyday as well!
That aside, I’m thinking of creating a couple more quick tutorial that are designed to be under one minute Easy to digest, to the point and hopefully useful! So let me know if you have any ideas~
Hope you guys have a great weekend, I’ll be attempting to shoot a number of videos on mine Wish me luck
It’s Friday! Yay! Finally the end of what felt like a very long week *_* Just glad to finally have the weekend arrive to chill out and hopefully work on some videos
Today I present you my last makeup “demonstration” video from my European series, Makeup in France! I was shooting for a romantic, yet striking high fashion look. I’d like to think I struck a pretty good balance, but I’ll let you be the judge
Also in case you missed it, I’ve also uploaded my Paris, France vlog on my second channel Please let me know what else you’d like to see on my second channel, I’m considering just doing more “normal life” sort of vlogs, potentially tags? Behind the scenes etc. Enjoy!
