Aren’t you just so impressed with my blog post naming creativity? Yeah….

I purchased this shirt many aeons ago from Forever 21, I can’t remember if it was when I was in Japan or via that one time I did a mail order (and regretted it because of how insanely expensive international postage is!) I’ve never really know how to wear this shirt, it’s essentially see-through and very flowly. Most of my closet is filled with fitted clothes OR hoodies / tees, nothing this delicate.

But I think this would be an amazing top to wear to a lunch now, just need to gather the courage as I’m not completely used to it yet
So I will certainly try and wear it out more.
I’m hoping to get around to doing more posts about “phases” I’m going through both with my hair and makeup. For example I’ve been using only one shade of eyeshadow with a single winged eyeliner, topped off with copulas amounts of mascara. And I seem to have a strange obsession with curling my hair XD; Any one going through certain “makeup phases” too?

So if you read my post from yesterday, you’ll know that AX were kind enough to gift me with a $100 gift voucher which I decided to spend on this jacket. This is the most expensive jacket I’ve ever owned, at the store it was 20% off, with a further $100 taken off so I ended up paying $140 instead. Most of my money tends to get eaten by makeup and handbags instead so when I do spend more on fashion, it’s usually for something extra special! And what could be more special than my first blogging related clothing piece?

My outfits always tend to be more on the conservative side, the jacket is definitely a little more glitzy and out there than what I’m used to, but like I said before. I’m trying to grow my style and I think this is the perfect direction to take it
Girly, shiny, but still me!
I can imagine using this jacket for more night time looks
It is after all white, so need to becareful and not spill anything on it o-o
Sorry for the poor quality photos X_x; I stupidly forgot to charge up the batteries for my usual camera and I kinda suck at posing for photos when I’m not cosplaying a character :3

Okay I’m trying, and I’ll try harder this coming weekend. But you guys know I’m trying to branch out my fashion posts, and when I saw these adorable white shoes, I thought I’d love to feature them in a post! They were from Target, they are cheap, cute and very comfortable.

Then I thought, I could wear some nice casual clothes and show you my low-key typical weekend outfit like a good fashion blogger would.

And I thought, why not even explore the cut of my top? This is one of my favourite jumpers, I wear it every chance I can. It’s comfortable, drapes down my shoulders perfectly, makes me look slim and clinches at my waist perfectly.

But I’m not a good fashion blogger, actually I don’t know what I’d call myself. Oh wait, that’s right. I’m child, at heart. See, I had just straightened my hair for the first time in weeks that day and noticed my hair was extra swishy (thanks to a product I shall review soon).
So I decided to jam pack my memory card with… what else, swishy hair photos! *cue awkward model music*

I know dude, seriously. I can’t take myself anywhere anymore *rolls eyes*

So I don’t claim to be a fashionista by any means, but I know what I like and what I don’t like. And I like free clothes (and that’s what half the outfit was) ;D I’m going to gradually bring back my “outfit” posts, after all Fables started off as a fashion blog… you know… hence the word “Fashion” in the name…

Not including the photo with the jacket (which Violet kindly gifted me!) the real stunner is the t-shirt, which as I said before, was free with a magazine
Terribly sheer so I’m wearing a singlet underneath. But otherwise, this outfit is extremely comfortable, easy to throw together and very cheap
I promise to try harder next time mum hehe

Two weekends ago I was invited by Illamasqua to attend Circa Nocturna, Melbourne’s Premier Alternative Fashion Parade as part of the LMFF 2011~
The fashion was nothing short of amazing! I loved how non-conventional items and materials were used to create some of the most elegant dresses I have ever seen! I think all cosplayers can appreciate that side of fashion

The most emotional part of the event was Trudi’s speech about S.O.P.H.I.E, which is a charity supported by Illasmaqua. In 2007, young British Sophie Lancaster and her boyfriend were brutally beaten simply because they were Goth. Sophie later passed away, whilst her boyfriend Robert suffered permanent damage that he is still recovering
from. Sophie’s mother Sylvia created S.O.P.H.I.E “Stamp Out Prejudice, Hatred and Intolerance, Everywhere” in both honour of her daughter and to fight against prejudice.
As a cosplayer this part of the evening really got to me the most because I have been teased and made fun of for my hobby. I’ve been disregarded and treated poorly, even by people whom I thought were close to me because they thought I was weird for being a cosplayer. If you want to give your support online, you can either purchase a S.O.P.H.I.E black pencil liner from Illamasqua counters, every $5AU goes to the foundation. Or visit their website, where you can also view the heartbreaking video shown that night.

If you’ve got the time on Wednesday night (23rd of March after 5:30pm) Illamasqua at Myer in Melbourne CBD is hosting a book signing for Kelly Cutrone’s new book. If you head down then, and purchase 2 Illamasqua products you will receive a free signed copy of Kelly’s book and Illamasqua will donate the value of the book to the S.O.P.H.I.E foundation.
To end the post on a more light hearted note, this is what I wore to Circa Nocturna, I posted a photo of my outfit last week already!

I was so nervous stepping out of the house like this, little did I know that I’m really only a baby goth in comparison to some of the stunning fashion I saw that night!

You can view the rest of the photos here.

Jonathan, Trudi, Val and me~
Thank you kindly to both Circa Nocturna and of course Illamasqua for a most unforgettable evening.

Despite being a computer geek who fears the sun’s rays, I looove nature. At least the concept of it
That’s essentially how the name of Fables came to be, my love for greek mythology, nymphs, fairies etc. This is why shooting outdoors is my favourite types of shoots

One of my favourite bags from TopShop, the leather is incredibly soft and gives off a very casual look. Not to mention an across the body bag leaves my hands completely free. Shoes were from a sample sale from RMK, tops from Portmans and jeans from Gasp
I looooove being in the forest, and the fact that Sefie lives just around the corner makes the location all the more attractive

Aren’t my title just the most original!? *cue innocent look*

I have an obsession for ankle boots lately, I wanted to give this otherwise soft and girly outfit a slight edge with rocker like boots. Jacket from Forever 21, Dress from Temt & Boots from Myer (maybe?). The dress is a bit big for me, so I’ll probably have to take it in a bit before I wear it again (I used safety pins this time, a cosplayer’s best friend!)
My bracelet is one of my favourites, I had it made up for me at Sanrio Land in Japan earlier this year, it spells my gamer tag: eXmotion
Gamer 4 life!
