I’ve never seen myself so tanned before but I think the tanned skin actually suits me! (Not that I plan to start tanning, no no! Natural skin tone FTW) I almost feel like I’m playing a character with this look, but the look is rather provocative / out there, at least for my personal every day tastes. But yeah, that’s what I love about cosplay and makeup, being able to completely transform yourself~
Still, I could so imagine wearing this look to a Salsa club at night~
I altered these cheap earrings from Diva since I don’t have pierced ears. Bought a stack of stuff there for literally under $30 that I plan to use for costumes and future looks~ I don’t normally wear jewellery in my everyday life so the cheaper the better XD; (So long as it lasts long enough to take photos)

Face
After priming your face, if you have a light skin tone try and use a slightly darker foundation. Instead of using normal powder, use a light bronzer to set the foundation all over your face, neck, chest and shoulders.
Cheeks
I used a medium bronzer and highlighter to contour your face. Add a medium pink blush to your cheeks, it should appear very subtle, like the pink is just glowing.
Eyes
Prime your lids, then use a yellow cream shadow all over the inner half of your lid and brow bone. Blend a blue cream shadow to the outer corner of your eyes and under the eye. With a green cream shadow, blend it all the way up and out towards the hairline and past the brows. Set all the cream shadow with a matching pigment.

Line your upper lash and water line with a black liner, and draw on some lashes above and below your eye. Shape your brows with a dark brow pencil.
Curl your lashes and apply two coats of mascara.
Lips
Line and fill in your lips, fill in with a light pink lipstick, then apply a darker pink lipstick to the center of your lips to add dimension.

This look almost feels Arabic to me for some reason, which is a look I should get into eventually! Anyways, I saw a very similar eyeliner design on the Urban Decay website and just HAD to try it out! I changed the colour of the main liner, but otherwise it’s pretty close
This look was rather time consuming, and from a distance I think I look a bit weird with my missing eyebrows O_o! I’ve been working on ways to seamlessly conceal my eye brows because they are naturally SO dark! Hope you guys enjoy all the gold

Face
As usual, apply your primer, foundation, concealer and powder.
Cheeks
Dig deep and apply lots of pink blush just above the hollows of your cheeks. Then go over the apples of your cheeks with a white highlighter. Apply a bronzer to the hollows of your cheeks.

Eyes
Prime the eyes, and apply brow wax to your brows followed by concealer. Next apply gold eye shadow all over the lid up to the brow bone. Next draw a line in your crease using a brow liner, then using the same liner lightly draw the swirls above and below the eyes.
Next with a wet eyeliner brush, dip it into the same gold eye shadow and increase the intensity of the gold colour all around the lid to the brow bone and under your eyes. Do this all around the lines traced out earlier, go slow as this will take some time. Using a purple gel liner, go over the light swirls you drew earlier.
Apply a cream gold shadow all over your brows, then apply a gold pigment on top. We are trying to conceal our brows as best we can, you probably won’t need to pack on so much product if your eyebrows are lighter than mine!
Line your eyes with a black gel liner for the top and a pencil liner for the waterline. Curl your lashes and apply 2 coats of mascara. Apply demi-lashes
Lips
Line and fill in your lips with a metallic pink lip pencil, and apply lots of light pink gloss on top.

A replication of Natalie Portman’s Black Swan, I couldn’t not do this look because it is so regal and elegant. I actually have shot this look twice, first time I forgot to buy a tiara and tried draping lots of pearls all over myself. It looked okay, but it just wasn’t carry across the same feel / idea. So a few days later I bought a cheap tiara from Diva and re-shot it all
Enjoy!

Face
Prime your entire face, then apply a liquid foundation a few shades lighter than your own. Set with a clear powder, I love this powder because it means I can have an array of different foundation shades and only ever need one shade of powder!
Apply a dusty rose blush to the hollows of your cheeks, and a matte white powder to all your high points. Using a brown matte powder, sculpt the nose to make it appear sharper and smaller. We want to keep the face conservative as possible since the eyes will be so dramatic, but we still need to sculpt it to add more drama.
Eyes

Outline the swam wings around your eyes with a black eye liner, and fill it in with a black gel liner (cream shadow or wet eye shadow is just as good). Set the cream with a black eye shadow powder to prevent creasing. Next with a white gel liner, create flicks across the black to simulate the appearance of feathers. Line the bottom of the swan wings with a red eye shadow.
Curl your lashes, and apply 2 coats of mascara.
Lips
Line the lips with a dark red lip pencil, then fill in with a deep red lipstick. Next using an almost-black red, line your lips. We are trying to darker the outer edges of our lips to added further dimension to this look.

I did this look because I love fairy floss…. no seriously, that’s pretty much all there was to it!
Apologises if this is pink overkill, but my mum thinks it’s cool… not really, but I don’t have much to say about this look except check out my lashes! :9 Sometimes it’s fun to just grab a bunch of of stuff, and throw it together.

Ingredients
MAC Prep and Prime
Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation SPF 15 PA+ – Sand
Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer – Beige
MAC Mineralise Skinfinish Natural – Light
NARS Powder Blush – Orgasm

Savvy by DB Lip Liner – Tulip
Maybelline Color Sensational – Pink Peony
Dior Kiss Lip Gloss Berry Smoothie

Method
Face
Prime, foundation, conceal and powder. Follow these 4 rules and I promise you as close to flawless skin as possible!
Cheeks
Pink blush to the apples of your cheeks and then bronzer to the hollows. Dig deep into the bronzer, concentrating closer to your hair line.
Dab glitter gel on the high points of your cheeks, just below your eyes followed with some silver cosmetic grade glitter.
Eyes
Conceal your brows, then pat on a hot pink powder.

Prime the eyes, apply a shimmering light pink on the brow bone, lid and inner corner of your eye. Extend the light pink just a bit more under your lower lash line. Apply a hot pink powder to your crease and to the rest of your lower lash line. Use a dark pink to the outer corner of your eye. Pat on some glitter gel all over your lid, followed with the same silver cosmetic grade glitter. Don’t be too heavy, we want a light application.
Curl and apply mascara to your lashes. Apply false lashes of your choice
Something fun and festive!
Lips
Line your lips, apply lipstick and then gloss.

Get your cosplay on! This week is mainly directed at cosplayers who tell me that there is no need to wear makeup when you cosplay a character that doesn’t appear to be wearing makeup. Wrong, so very very wrong. You always need makeup when you cosplay!
Don’t tell me you are magically born with perfect even skin, softly flushed cheeks, big bright eyes, long lashes and glossy lips
All of which are standards for any animated character, so consider this look highly versatile beyond the limitation that are Mint Buramanshu. This look can be used for any character that doesn’t appear to be wearing any makeup.

Ingredients
MAC Prep and Prime
Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation SPF 15 PA+ – Sand
Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer – Beige
MAC Mineralise Skinfinish Natural – Light
NARS Powder Blush – Orgasm
Canmake Highlighter – 01
NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base
NP Set New Neutrals Palette
MAC Fluidline – Blacktrack
L’Oreal Extra-Volume Collagene – Black
Chanel Sculpte Sourcils – Noir
NYX Lip Pencil – Natural
Maybelline Color Sensational – Pink Please
L’Oreal Glam Shine Volumizer Gloss Repulpant – Forever Sweet

Instructions
Face
Prime, Foundation, Powder and Conceal! All standards that should be followed for 95% of looks
Using a medium brown powder, contour your nose so it appears smaller.
Cheeks
Use a natural pink blush on the apples of your cheeks, and a highlight your cheek bones, nose, forehead and jawline with a highlighter.
Eyes
Prime your lids, then taking 3 neutral colours (very light brown, medium brown and dark brown). Apply the light brown to your brow bone, inner corner of your eye and all over your lid. Use the medium brown to your crease, then line your upper lash line with the dark brown. Don’t be afraid to make the line thick, this is the colour that will “open” your eyes.
With a black eyeliner, line your upper lash line enough so the dark brown is still visible. If you want you can line your lower lash line with a white liner, but don’t use black or it will make your eyes look smaller and give you a harsher look (and it will be even more obvious that you are wearing makeup)
Curl lashes and apply two coats of mascara. Apply false lashes (choose these wisely, you can’t just randomly pick up any false lashes, I’ll try and do a post on this one day!). Bottom lashes are optional, but only if you can keep them subtle. We aren’t going for a gyaru look here, we want to look as natural as possible for photography.
Shape your eyebrows with a brow pencil.
Lips
Line and fill in lips with a lip pencil, cover with lip stick then apply a generous layer of gloss.

Tips:
- Be careful not to apply anything too heavily, whilst this is a cosplay look, the idea is to enhance our features NOT “draw” them on.
- You know you’re on the right track if in real life, your makeup looks a tad heavy, but appears very subtle in photographs.
I’ve got a bunch more posts to make regarding natural makeup for cosplayers, so let me know if you have any questions in particular you’d like answered and stay tuned

This is my Kerrigan look, my failed look I was talking about earlier on twitter, because this looks nothing like Kerrigan. But with the support of Toby I decided to post it anyways.
For those who don’t know, Kerrigan, otherwise known as the Queen of Blades is the main villain in my latest gaming obsession Star Craft 2. She was originally part of the Terran army, betrayed by her fellow man and then left to become infected and rule the Zerg race. I absolutely love her character design, if I was daring enough to appear naked, I’d totally cosplay her~
One thing I did really love about this look is how different it appears depending on the lighting. See below in one shot when taken at twilight, I look like a muddy forest nymph! Yet, when taken with candlelight, I look completely different
Hope you enjoy the look, it sure took me a long time to put together~

Ingredients
MAC Prep + Prime
MAC Pigment Emerald Green
NYX Ultra Pearl Mania – Black Pearl
NYX Ultra Pearl Mania – Lime Pearl
NYX Eye/Eyebrow Pencil Medium Brown
NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base
NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil Black Bean
Coastal Scents 88 Ultra Shimmer Palette
NYX Triple Eyeshadow Tropical / Yellow / Lime Green
Rimmel Quad Eye Shadow – Smokey Noir
Rimmel Soft Kohl Jet Black
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil Zero
L’oreal Extra-Volume Collagene Black
NYX Lipliner Pencil Black Berry
NYX Jumbo Lip Pencil Narcisse

Recipe
Face
Prime your entire face, dark green pigment (I mixed a green pigment with a black pigment). Buff the dark green all over the face, focusing stronger pigmentation to hollows of your cheeks, temples and any place you want to create shadows. Use a lighter green pigment as a highlight, use on your forehead, cheekbones, bridge of your nose and chin.
Using a brown pencil liner, simulate the look of veins over your cheeks, chin and forehead.
Eyes
I used light gray contacts for this look. Next prime the eyes, then line and cover the lids with a black cream shadow. Using some left over dark green pigment, apply this to your crease to create a smoky look. Then take a black eye shadow to the outer corner of your eye, flick it out for a cat eye effect.
Under your eyes, simulate “dark circles” with a berry like eye shadow. Then just under the berry colour apply a yellow shadow. This is suppose to emphasise tired, drained, dark circles to a more extreme level. Make sure to blend out any harsh lines, but avoid over blending as we don’t want muddy colours.
With a black pencil eye liner, use a heavy hand to line your eyes and smudge it out. After smudging, it will be worth lining them again. We want a very heavy dark black appearance around the eyes. Be sure to line your waterline as well for the full impact. Don’t be afraid to be messy with it, we want a smudgy drained wrecked look
Curl your lashes and cover them with black mascara.
Using a black eyeliner, colour in your brow and extend them to create a high arch. Go heavy with the liner, no need to be subtle here!
Lips
Line your lips with a black lip liner, then apply a berry red colour to the lips. Blend it into the black liner for a “gothic” effect.

My candy and 70-80s rock star inspired look~ Been making good use of my glitter collection lately
Some things I wish I had done better was stronger pigmentation and done a better job of drawing that star on my face, I used a stencil and it still looks rather dull
I also found using a spritz of water or MAC Fix+ to be much better glitter adhesive, as opposed to using clear lip gloss as it feels lighter and allows my skin to breathe more. Enjoy!
The hair price I’m using was provided by Headline Hairpieces from the Melbourne Beauty Bloggers Event! I think I need to get some blue ones eventually, it would make a killer look

Steps to reproduce:
Face
As always, prime your face with MAC Prep + Prime. Apply MAC Mineralise Satinfinish SPF15 Foundation in NC20 all over the face, conceal with Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer in Beige and set with NARS Loose Powder in Flesh.
Cheeks
Standard cheeks with NARS Bronzer in Laguna to contour, NARS Powder Blush in Orgasm for the apples and NARS Highlighter in Albatross to highlight.
Eyes
Prime lids and both lash lines with NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow base. From the Coastal Scents 88 Ultra Shimmer Palette, apply a light pink all over the lid, inner corner of your eye and brow bone, and a hot pink into and above the crease and under your lower lash line. On the right side of your face, extend the hot pink all the way to your temple, shape till desired and blend! Take NYX Ultra Pearl Mania in True Purple Pearl to your crease. Next place a stencil of a star (or any shape you want) to your cheek bone and colour one side with the hot pink, and another with the purple pigment.
Use MAC Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Engraved to line your lash and water line. Fill and shape your brows with a medium to dark brown colour from the 88 palette. Next, hold your bottle of MAC Fix+ opposite your right temple about 20-30cms away and spray all over your eye makeup. Quickly (before the Fix+ dries) dab Coastal Scent Glitter Powder in Pinky, near the outer corner of your eye and out towards your temple. Do a second spray with your Fix+ and apply NYX Glitter Mania in Crystal over the pink glitter.
Curl your lashes, apply two coats of L’Oreal Extra Volume Collagene in Black and glue on your false lashes.

Lips
For the lips apply MAC Pro Longwear Lipcreme in Goes and Goes, then apply MAC Dazzle Lipstick in Troublemaker on your “inner” lips for added dimension.
