Another holiday palette~ This time by Shu Uemura, the lovely people at Shu Uemura were kind enough to gift me with this palette. The palette consists of four pressed eye shadows, one cream blush and one powder highlighter. Palette is available exclusively from David Jones Shu Uemura counters at $120AU a pop.

So let’s talk palette, the standout eye shadows for me were the dark blue (very pigmented) and the very light yellow / green shade which I consider to be more a pressed pigment than shadow, the texture is very different. The light yellow when blended doesn’t give off any solid colour, it’s more a very strong shimmer, so it’s best to overlay it over an existing colour unless you’re looking for a naturally high shimmery finish.

The cream blush is a little more difficult to use because the pan is so small, you would need to use your fingers to apply it and then blend out. I can’t see anyone managing to dip their stippling brush in it without touching the rest of the products. Same goes for the glow on / highlighter. As the pans are small, you need to either use a smaller brush or in my case, fingers!

I do really love the texture of the cream blush though, I’ve been using it as a lip colour and it’s got a very buttery feel with good slip. it isn’t terribly pigmented though so for a deep colour you need to go in a few times, probably because it was meant for cheeks not lips. But if you do use it on your lips, use lip balm first!

It’s a great little palette and would be a fun gift to give to someone who enjoys colours in their looks. You could get away with a blue smoky eye look with this, just go easy on the shimmer.

Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post, I had total deja vu over this! Earlier this year Shu Uemura sent me their spring palette which I turned into a Book of Fables Chapter based off their promotional images. I thought why not do the same for this since I loved the promotional images this time around too? :D Can’t wait to show you guys *_* It was a true labour of love :O
