When I released my last makeup video dedicated to Kesha’s music video look in We R Who We Are, I got a number of requests to demonstrate how I made the fake nails I created for the look
I documented the process through iphone photos so hopefully they make sense

Start off by selecting the fake nails that fits your fingers best! And then shave down any bumps or rough edges of the nail to ensure it is all smooth.

I tried using little photo stickers at first, but it didn’t work out so instead I used blu-tac and stuck each nail on a nail wheel so that I could paint them individually.

Then I first applied two coats of ORLY’s Angel Eyes, finished with two coats of OPI’s Gone Gonzo!

After that I took a bunch of very cheap earring studs, pulled out the ones I liked, cut down their stems and used nail glue to stick them on the nails. Sometimes I’d drill a small hole to push the stem through for additional stability.
Stick the nails on and you’re done!

I love these! I’ve always wanted to try 3D nail art, but I never wear fake nails. It’s really hard to do designs like this on your natural nails.

It’s been ages since I’ve dropped a comment. I assure you I’ve been reading though!
Clever idea about those earring studs.
