Shu uemura is well known for their cleansing oils and fantastic eyelash curler, both which I’ve enjoy and love. This time I decided to give one of their foundation a whirl, and I decided to pick up their Face Architect Smoothing Fluid Foundation and my general impression was a positive one.

I would call this a medium coverage foundation that can the built, it applied smoothly with a wet sponge, brush or fingers. There was no noticeable scent, but I have to admit I didn’t find it to have incredible lasting power. I notice my pores showing through after about 5-6 hrs, which for some people may be fine. But for a full working day probably not.

Still if I had to give a comparison, I would say it was coverage wise similar to Revlon’s Colorstay, but minus the smell. It’s a lovely foundation that gives a beautiful smooth finish, and the pump packaging is a huge win for me! I would definitely recommend it. It’s not my HG foundation but I’d said it was definitely up there as a quality foundation.

If you’re interested, you can purchase this online for $44AU, I know they are available at counters at Myer as well, but I’m not aware of the price.

Ah, I used their Face Architect for about a year and I loved the result but had some issues with it. I’m glad to hear they fixed the scent problem because when I used it, it had a faint alcohol/drugstore foundation scent to it. But otherwise I found it to be a good foundation. The only reason I don’t use it anymore is because Shu Uemura closed their US counters
