Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro – Creation Review, Swatches and Photos

Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro – 504 Ecstasy

Giorgio Armani finally hopped on the bandwagon with many other brands and is finally diving into the matte revolution! They have released a line known as Lip Maestro which is essentially a matte lip lacquer.

The texture is smooth and creamy, and likely because of my colour choice, very pigmented. It does have a bit of a tendency to stain so I had to be very careful when applying to my lips to ensure I was using a mirror so I wasn’t going out of the lines.

Unlike many matte products I’ve tried, this is not at all drying. I might even go as far as to say that it could even be a little moisturising. All I know is that there was no need to apply a lip balm before or after using this and it lasted be quite a while.

When you first apply it, you need to let it “set” on your lips first, I had a couple of issues with going straight outside and having strands of my hair touching my lips and then leaving little marks on my cheeks.

The only issue I have with this product is bleeding. If you see the photos below you’ll notice that after about 1-2 hrs of wear, the product does start to bleed on the edges of my lips. To me, this is just messy and quite a let down for a product as expensive and luxurious as Giorgio Armani. I know this is easy to fix with a lip liner, but frankly it still annoys me.

I’m in two minds as to whether I should purchase more, I did consider purchasing a lighter shade as I tend to wear lighter shades more often than darker shades, but I think I’ll put that thought on the back burner for now with anticipation of the new Spring 2013 collections coming out (much more my colour types).
