Chi Chi Eye Magic

I’ve seen these types of eye shadows littered across the internet for several months now, so when I spotted these in Target I knew I had to give them a go.

Basically this is called instant eye shadow, where you take one of the foam pieces, press it against your eyelid and sweep it outwardly. You receive a total of seven applications. Despite my initial concerns with application, these applied very easily. The instructions said the foam piece which applied the eye shadow to blend it out. Which again it did very well.

This is a good option for someone who doesn’t wear makeup very often and is not comfortable with traditional makeup application.

However keep in mind, that for $14.95 you could probably get a trio eye shadow palette that could last beyond the seven application this product gives you. Plus one of the things that annoyed me was if you’re not careful, the very packaging this product comes in can damage the eye shadow powder. Not that it’s a big deal, the sweeping motion will makeup for any shadow loss.

The colours are more suitable for special events / evenings as opposed to everyday as the colours are more shimmery and vibrant.

Personally, I don’t see myself repurchasing this, but it was certainly a fun product to play with and put my curiosity to rest. It’s more a novelty than a makeup kit essential 😉

  1. I’ve seen those and have been wondering how well they work. Also if they’d be easy enough to use for me as I’d be sure to screw it up somehow, lol. I think I’m going to have to get some now!

    1. Ahh! Too bad you don’t live in Melbourne 🙁 I have 6 applications left and I would totally give some to you to try!!

  2. i’ve seen this around but i’ve never thought about buying them. like you say with this price you can buy something that lasts for more than 7 applications. but i’ve always wonder how it works. thanks for sharing and now i know i definitely won’t buy it.

    1. Yep for sure, certainly not the most economical purchase, and as a friend recently pointed out, foam isn’t very environmentally friendly either~ Glad I could help 😀
