Essie Braziliant Summer Collection 2011 Review, Swatches and Photos

Painful ironic, as I write this very post it is pouring rain outside, I’ve got the heater on whilst I sip warm hot chocolate… okay the last one is a lie, I’m drinking nothing cause I’m too lazy to make something in the kitchen X_x;

Anyways, this is Essie’s Summer 2011 collection~ The formula for these was 5 out of 6 great 🙂 Only one bottle I found was very difficult to work with :/ Generally however, 3 of these colours seems to be very similar which I found to be a bit unimaginative 🙁

I used 2 coats for all polishes unless otherwise specified, no top coat.

Absolutely Shore

A soft sea foam green, it had the worst formula out of all six polishes, it left my nails very streaky, so I ended up using 3 coats to compensate for it.

Braziliant

A hot orange with a touch of gold shimmer, the namesake for this collection and rightfully so. I’m not a huge fan of orange nails, but I was pretty impressed by this! The shimmer was a very nice touch, which unfortunately did not photograph at all for me 🙁

Meet Me at Sunset

A vibrant deep orange, which I found to be very similar to Braziliant. Admittedly it is a little more saturated and doesn’t have shimmer, but surely they could have shot for a different shade? Maybe even a yellow?

Smooth Sailing

A lavender blue with silver shimmer, as a blue fan, this is my favourite! It’s not as “overall impressive” as Braziliant, but it’s still pretty amazing 😀

Super Bossa Nova

A bright fuchsia with hot pink shimmer, another amazing polish~ The pink shimmer is a great twist on an otherwise pretty common colour.

Too Too Hot

A rich red coral, much more red than coral in real life, it’s a lovely shade but I’d be surprised if a big polish collector didn’t already have this one 🙂
