Christian Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick – 961 Nocturne Review, Swatches and Photos

Christian Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick - 961 Nocturne

Personally I’ve never been someone who has been big with lipstick, mostly because at work I love snacking throughout the day and eating lipstick isn’t something I’m personally keen on :/

However this holiday season has introduced a couple of new lipsticks that caught my eye and has encouraged me to branch out a little more. Mostly as I come to work, for meetings and after work when I meet friends (I’m weird and actually remove my lipstick before I drink / eat).

Nocturne is a shade introduced in Dior’s Holiday 2011 line, it’s a beautiful pigmented rich berry red shade that wears better than it swatches in my opinion. Unfortunately I didn’t find this lipstick to be as moisturising as the Dior Addict line.

A couple of reviews state that it was moisturising for them, so I’m guessing perhaps I have drier lips than most people. Which doesn’t surprise me, most lipsticks are virtually peeling or drying out my lips by the 4-5 hour mark unless I remove and apply a balm under, or reapply if it’s a moisturising formula.

It’s a beautiful shade however, as you can see I think it’s very festive and suits people with warmer skin tones.

I can’t specifically remember which store I purchased this from, but it was through a mail forwarding company so I only know the American price at $32US. A great holiday lipstick πŸ™‚

From the pictures I thought this would be… brown. But on your lips it looks like much more of a berry shade. Very wearable!

Same! The lipstick looks like it has a bit of brown in it, but I was surprised how it came out!

It almost looks foiled! I love the way this makes your lips look classically chic.
