Color Club Alter Ego Collection Review, Swatches

Color Club Nail Polish Alter Ego Collection

The one thing that saddens me about Color Club is the fact it isn’t available in Australia, because it truly is one of those amazing brands that should be! One of the things that did surprise me when first using this brand is that I didn’t have high expectations given the price point (half the price of OPI), but after trying a few collections I can say I’m impressed, and their latest Alter Ego collection is no different.

This particular collection is filled with dark blues and purples with metallic and glitter finishes. It also comes with a top coat that gives a lovely sheen across all polishes. I found the formula for this collection to be very easy to work with, only two coats needed. The top coat was not used for any of the swatches below.

Masquerading

A blue / green steel metallic and my absolute favourite of the collection! It’s so unusual, I’ve never seen a colour like this before 🙂

Secret Agent

A vibrant grape purple metallic, very rich and pigmented, the colour appears more “colourful” on the nail than it does the bottle.

Total Mystery

A glittery royal blue with silver flecks, it feels like a much lighter version of OPI’s Ink.

Ulterior Motive

A red to magenta polish with pink glitter, I think a very thin coat of this over another opaque polish would look amazing!

Alias

A blackberry shade with purple / plum glitter, another gorgeous unique colour from this range, I don’t believe I have anything in my growing collection quite like this.

Alter Ego

A stained steel glitter polish, it appears a lot lighter on the nail than it does on the bottle. I like how the glitter here (and for the other polishes) are not at all chunky, which gives a much smoother finish.

Overall, very impressed with this collection~ Given the recent collections from other brands, I feel this is a unique and refreshing change from the standard 🙂 And I’m so in love with Masquerading! It lies in the same “Celina’s favourite” group as Zoya’s Freya!
