Zoya Mod Matte Collection Review, Swatches and Photos

Zoya Mod Matte

I really need to give a huge shout out and thanks to Jacie from You’ve Got Nail for this collection! She is Australia’s Queen of nail polish, I bow down to her knowledge. She kindly gave me this collection 🙂 Thank you so much Jacie <3 You must read Jacie's review of this collection, she's even included a comparison of each polish with and without a top coat, and you're in for a surprise when you see the transformation for one of these colours 🙂

Generally I found these a little difficult to work with, they seem to require a thick coat to achieve a smoother finish. Be careful not to apply these too lightly or you'll end up with a bunch of streaks.

All swatches are 2 coats without any top coat.

Phoebe
Zoya Mod Matte Phoebe
A bright ocean blue shade with only the slightest amount of shimmer to it, barely there without a top coat. This is my absolutely favourite from the bunch; you must see Jacie’s post to see how magical it becomes when you apply a top coat 🙂

Mitzi
Zoya Mod Matte Mitzi
A bright lime green shade, almost neon in some lights. You can see I struggled to get a good coat of this on my nails 🙁

Lolly
Zoya Mod Matte Lolly
A hot medium pink shade, one of the easier shades to apply, very flattering and pigmented.

This is a lovely collection, makes for the perfect gift 😉 If you love matte shades, give this a go, the shades are so bright and summery but keep in mind that application can be an issue if you aren’t experienced. If you’re new to polish, don’t expect to get a smooth clean coat first go, and thicker coats will help disguise any streakiness.

Keep Up with Mia

  1. OMG They look amazing!!!!!! Thanks so muchies for the swatches!! 😀

  2. Celina, these are gorgeous!! The first time I discovered there was such things as ‘matte’ nail colours was when I worked next to Revlon and I thought ew but looks like it depends on the colour! I’m loving these bright happy shades, especially LOLLY! I want!! Now I’m going to head over to Jacies blog and find out where she got hold of them haha. Or do you know? I want to purchase the hot pink one 😀 xx

    1. Yes! 😀 You can get them at nailetc.com, people who run that site are amazing!! Glad you enjoyed 😀

  3. Did you wear any of these for a long time? I’ve heard that matte nail polishes are notorious for chipping, especially if you want to keep the matte finish and not apply a top coat. I love the matte look! 🙂

    1. I haven’t worn them without a topcoat so I can’t say (though you are correct that in my experience matte polishes chip faster!) With a top coat I start chipping within 2-3 days (pretty standard for most polishes in my experience). I know there is a top coat that actually dries matte by Zoya I think? But I can’t remember the name 🙁

  4. Ah, these colors are so beautiful – perfect for summer! I am especially enamored with the pink, but I love the green & blue as well!
