Lime Crime Lipsticks Review, Swatches and Photos

Lime Crime Lipsticks

A little while back Lime Crime kindly sent me a care package filled with a range of different Lime Crime products, in that package included a range of her lipsticks that I’ve heard of much about (especially the blue lipstick).

These lipsticks are pretty unique on their own, it’s not often you come across a brand that has bright blue or bright purple colours in their range. That aside, these lipsticks lean on the drier side. If you are prone to dry lips, then I’d recommend you apply lip balm before hand.

The pigmentation is incredible, the colours are extremely rich. And the lasting power is intense, so much so some of the deeper shades will leave your lips stained well after removing them from your lips. That’s really a personal preference, I personally prefer having my lips stained because it means I don’t need to worry too much if my lipstick rubs off. Of course you need to be careful with application to ensure you don’t end up looking a bit like a clown.

These lipsticks are not for everyone, these aren’t a range I would wear day to day to work or going out, mostly because I prefer lipsticks that lean sheerer and provide more moisture.

However, these lipsticks are perfect for photo shoots and cosplay. That was instantly what I thought when I tried these out for the first time, this would be amazing for my cosplay photo shoots because my lipstick would remain on, it wouldn’t budge and I wouldn’t need to worry about all the things I do on a shoot aka hair sticking to my lips, lipstick fading half way through a shoot etc. These lipsticks are very long lasting, so they would perform amazingly well at a day long convention.

If you need a long lasting lipstick that will remain picture perfect all day, then give these a whirl!

  1. My all time fav i retrofuturist & then Glamour 101. I tend to grab retrofuturist the most. Just love it. I’m dying to grab Centrifuchsia but i’m not 100% sure i can move that far from red. hee hee hee. Like you said they have great staying power. Big plus too as the tube is purple, You can always find them deep in the bottom depths of your bag!

  2. I thought I should let you know that Doe Deere and Lime Crime have a pretty shady past. They regularly use images from other photographers and artists without permission to promote the company. They also threaten to sue bloggers who offer less than glowing (yet fair) reviews. A pretty comprehensive and even handed account of Doe Deere and Lime Crime can be found at the Doe Deere Lies tumblr.
