Tom Ford Private Blend Lip Color - Pure Pink

I’m sure every beauty obsessed person has seen this lovely lipstick floating around the interwebs for some time now. I remember when they first came out, desperately wanting to try them, only to discover they weren’t yet in Australia (this was a while back). Fortunately, the lovely people at Tom Ford sent me one for consideration 🙂 The shade I received is Pure Pink, a rich deep magenta shade that seems to almost photograph red.

The first thing I noticed about these lipsticks is how heavy they are, better becareful throwing these around because paired with the sharp corners it could turn into a nice weapon (perhaps a bonus if you’re out alone at night!). It definitely feels like a high end luxury lipstick, no doubt there.

The pigmentation did impress me; it went on very strong after only two swipes, so I would try dabbing and blending with my fingers if you wanted a sheerer finish. The only issue with applying too much is that this lipstick does have a slight tendency to stain, so if you want a proper removal you will need to use makeup remover, rather than tissues (though I personally liked the stained look I got after 🙂 )

I suspect the biggest issue people will have is the price at $65AU. This is certainly a product you’ll need to purchase if you feel like spoiling yourself, it will leave you feeling indulged.

All in all, this is a lovely lipstick that I know I can get a lot of use of, with such strong pigmentation a tube of this will last a very long time.

  1. I’m not too keen on the packaging but I love the shade, it’s beautiful and pigmented. Too bad it can stain lips though.
