If you’re reading this then I am likely on my way back home after a glorious couple of weeks away in Asia 🙂 I had the most amazing time and I can’t wait to share with you all my videos, photos and more 😀 In the mean time I pre-filmed this makeup tutorial using the Laura Mercier Eye Art palette 🙂 Hope you enjoy!
The Becca x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Champagne Pop ($38USD) has been the talk of the internets for several months now and I feel a little late to the party, but keen to share my two cents anyways! One because Becca is an Aussie company and two, I LOVE Jaclyn Hill!
I have a bit of a love hate relationship with Becca. I love the quality of their makeup, but I never could understand why an Australian company would charge more for their products in Australian then overseas. The same goes for Napoleon Perdis (which is one of the reasons I’ve stopped using their products). However the quality for Becca is just so exception I can’t stay away, though I try to keep my products limited to just the essentials and this highlighter sure felt like an essential.
However now that I have it I can honestly say it’s a lovely highlighter, very suited to particular skin tones. But it’s not a must have if you prefer cooler highlighters or something more neutral. The tone feels very gold and while I don’t doubt it wouldn’t suit a lot of people, I wasn’t 100% sure it suited me. That aside, the quality is absolutely amazing, so if the colour seems up your alley, you can rest assure you will love the pigmentation and wear!
Keep in mind that if you do intend to use this product frequently, I’ve been told it can disappear very quickly so something to keep in mind 🙂
I believe this product is sold exclusive at Sephora.
In case you don’t know, I have a channel dedicated to all things planners! It’s a massive obsession of mine right now, so much so that after filming a particular Plan With Me video a while back I decided to put together a look inspired by it! Crazy right? Whatever makes for an interesting makeup look 🙂 Now that the weather is starting to warm up again, I’m becoming much more inspired to play around with different looks more 😀 Hope you enjoy!
It has been close to 6 months since I last filmed a vlog (crazy!) and the Royal Melbourne Show felt like the perfect opportunity to start it up again~ This past weekend Tobias, Violet, Jimmy and myself all headed over to the Royal Melbourne Show with low expectations, and yet walked out having had a fantastic day! We played with animals, binged on all the different types of food and candy and played a couple of games. Hope you guys enjoy the quick vlog I threw together for the day~
I’m in the process of working through ALL the travel vlogs I’ve filmed over the last few years to upload them to a new space. It’s going to take a while, but my goal is to try and release vlogs around 1-2 days after I’ve filmed them. Personally I find watching vlogs shortly after they’ve been filmed to just be a lot more fun and engaging! You really feel like you’re on the adventure with that person, and that’s what I’d like to start achieving once I’ve finally caught up on two massive trips I’ve still yet to pull together. Baby steps!
Last week I received a palette from Laura Mercier I absolutely loved! This week unfortunately is not going to be the same 🙁 I saw the Laura Mercier Candleglow Luminizing Palette ($58USD / $69AUD) online, it looked amazing and I just had to grab it to test for myself because who wouldn’t love a beautiful highlighter palette just in time for summer?
Personally I only found half the palette useable, which to me is clear from the swatches about. The four eyeshadow shades were patchy and not shadows I’d bother reaching for. The colour is great, but the lack of consistency in the pigmentation just doesn’t cut it for me, and when applied to my brow bone, is very subtle. Which isn’t bad, but I’d prefer something with great pigmentation that gives me a larger range of looks to play with.
The blushes however were fantastic! So rich and pigmented, a little on the darker side so probably better for people with dark skin tones. It felt a little like night and day for me, which is so disappointing. I really wanted to love this palette, and it looked stunning! But I couldn’t recommend this palette to anyone else.
Definitely a palette I’ll keep just for the blushes alone (plus the amazing palette design!) but if I could do it over I wouldn’t have bothered picking it up myself.
You know how I am about products and hitting pan, it’s kind of the best thing ever! And so I decided to do a video on all the products I have hit major pan on 😀 Enjoy!
This palette reminds me of my first trip to the USA back in 2013. I was staying near the Beverly Center and I just so happened to timed my trip along with the 20% bi-annual sale Sephora has. So whilst there I naturally went a little crazy, what with the fact I was in Los Angeles and the AU dollar was so strong! I remember seeing this palette, I placed it in my basket, and then decided to put it back given the hefty price tag I was always paying!
Then I went home and immediately regretted it… deep huh?
So I made sure to snap up any other Laura Mercier palettes I could find throughout the years but I was always sad this was evaded me. And then! It came back! 😀 So I ordered it online the minute I saw it and I’m so happy I did~
The quality is amazing, just as I had imagined. It’s soft, pigmented and buttery. All elements of the perfect eyeshadow palette 😀
You can tell from the swatches that even the lighter shades are amazingly pigmented, the perfect indicator as to the quality of this palette. And with 12 different shades ranging from light to dark, cool to warm, you can pretty much create whatever look you need 🙂 All in all, I’m a happy camper and so glad I finally picked it up 😀
If you’re interested, you can pick this up for $55USD from Sephora.
Wow! It’s been a pretty insane week! I’ve had 3 nights in a row where I only managed to go to bed close to 3am, waking up at 6am the following day and I can tell you by the end of the week I was pretty zoned out. It’s been pretty crazy at work trying to get a few last minute deadlines closed off, but on top of that I’ve started a small shop on Etsy that has been a lot more time consuming (but oh so rewarding!) than I had expected! Certainly not complaining because things are going great right now, but certainly wanted to let you guys know so you’d understand why things seem a little delayed.
Anyways! Rather than not filming anything for this week I decided I didn’t want to fall back into old habits of just “skipping” a week, nope! I promised myself I would try and maintain a regular schedule because sticking to plans and schedule actually does make me feel good and so I threw together a really simple no talking makeup tutorial 🙂 Not as informative as most of my other videos, but hopefully it’s interesting to watch none the less 😀
I really didn’t want to like this product, because it seemed so gimmicky! A lot of the makeup products nowadays go all out on packaging and often their product quality suffers as a result.
But not in this case! I saw it online and though I’d give it a go just to satisfy my curiosity… now I want to go back and buy all the shades! (which is worse because the US dollar is so strong against the Australian dollar!!)
The name describes this product perfectly, it gives your cheeks a beautiful flush rather than a strong hit of colour. Of course a lot of that comes down to application, but I found it so easy to great a gentle flush of colour without the need to over blend. As for lasting power, I managed to wear this for around 12 hours straight and it held up very well for me! It did tend to fade just a touch after 8 or so hours, but I never really believe any product that claims to be 100% fade proof (I’ve become bitter after trying one too many products with broken promises!)
If you’re thinking, “this is just another blush” well probably, but it’s another awesome blush that I love! And when I make it over to the USA later this year you can be sure I’ll be stocking up!
If you’re interested, you can pick up your own from Sephora.
I’ve never done a first impressions video before, so I thought I’d give it a go since I love watching them 😀 Hope you enjoy!
