Topshop Velvet Finish Lipstick Review, Swatches and Photos

Topshop Velvet Finish Lipstick

A little while back I did an incredibly large Topshop lipstick haul via their online store.

I have no idea why, sometimes I find myself going into weird moods where I’m just completely addicted to something in particular and want to grab them all! It’s weird I know. Anyways, I had a moment with Topshop lipsticks and so I ended up purchasing almost 12 different shades! For the purposes of not making my posts incredibly long I’ve broken up the haul into lipstick type instead 🙂

So today we’ll be addressing the Velvet Finish lipsticks. I purchased these in three different more pastel like shades: Charmed, a muted coral shade. Macaroon, a sweet warm pink and Saint, a pink toned nude.

All lipsticks are on the creamier side, just the way I like them! Similar to the texture of MAC cremesheens. The pigmentation is really quite impressive, despite the colour selection being on the lighter side.

If I were to give the Topshop lipsticks a particular scent, I’d say it was a cross between Estee Lauder and MAC. MAC is a pretty heavy Vanilla scent, and Estee Lauder is a super sweet fruit scent. Both are quite strong and lovely in their own way but can be slightly over powering at times. Topshop I find to be the happy medium, it’s a lovely sweet scent but not so strong that I can continue to smell it after application.

Packaging is an interesting one, I personally prefer plastic lipstick bullets, I find them easier to use. However the Topshop lipsticks are encased in metal packaging, not my favourite but not a deal breaker for me.

All in all, I LOVE the Topshop lipstick range! I really shouldn’t buy more, but I know I’ll be tempted in the future.

If you’re interested, each lipstick is available online for £8.00.
